The Fremont Rocket is a rocket-shaped sculpture displayed in Fremont and attracts a lot of people from far and wide who come to admire the impressive sculpture. Before being relocated to Fremont, the rocket was displayed earlier at an army surplus store in Belltown. But, when the surplus store closed down, the rocket was moved to its present location. The rocket was built from military surplus with the help of the Fairchild C-119 tail boom dressed up with fins that were similar to that of a rocket. The details of the rocket owe more to the sci-fi rockets than to the rocketry of 1950’s. The 53-foot Fremont Rocket is a striking structure and is worth seeing on your visit to Seattle.
