Used to go to HS cross country meets here and I still love it! It's great that there's a quieter spot away from the crowds at Green Lake park. There are lots of people here usually too but most of them are minding their own business here and it doesn't feel as crowded. There is a 3.5 mile trail my team used to run and it's still fun walking it too! There's so much to do here, it's such a great park.
Old growth forest with open spaces. Close to the Zoo. Some open BBQ grills if you get there early. Be Advised: Late afternoon and evening lurkers in the park. Bring a flashlight after dark. Otherwise great Olmstead city park.
How can I possibly say enough good things about this zoo in just one paragraph? WPZ takes the best care of both its animals and its guests. Just visit. You won't regret it! ❤
Pretty decent zoo. It's more of a nature trail with a few animals along the way. Great place to get a beautiful early morning walk or picnic in the open field. The enclosures are decent as far as size but they still house some animals in what I believe to be small quarters. I.e the kangaroo enclosure looks depressive.
Good place to run. Not crowded. People walk their dogs there and it's relatively safe. There is also a dog park there. Many playing fields in top shape for soccer, lacrosse, baseball and tennis. Also has a nice skateboarding bowl which older peeps share willingly with young children. And if you're looking for a little BMX riding, there's a banked, dirt course!
