The Palatki Heritage Site is a designated World Heritage Site which serves as a window into the ancient Arizonans’ culture. The site is filled with cliff dwellings along with pictographs as well as petroglyphs which were made by the Southern Sinagua people. Archaeologists believe that the dwellings and the ruins were created by the ancient Sinagua Indians who lived in the Verde Valley and the Sedona area from 500 to about 1425 AD. A lot of people believe that the people left the area because of prolonged drought or were either driven away by the enemy tribes. A tour of Palatki Heritage Site would let you experience and explore how things were back then and have a better understanding of their culture.
