If you are an ardent lover of history willing to unearth some of its unvisited pages, come to the Austraat Castle, Selva, and spectacular coastal artillery. Located at Austraat, Norway, it is one of the biggest examples of a World War II German coastal battery extant that was constructed in 1942 by the German Wehrmacht to protect the Trondheimsfjord during the catastrophic war. The fort's centerpiece is a three-gun turret and it was decommissioned in 1968. Now you will only see a well-preserved museum with its underground barracks and turret shaft with ammunition rooms. Also look out for the infantry defenses consisting of trenches and a recently renovated French-made anti-tank gun just waiting for your command.
