Located near the Heunginjimun or the Dongdaemun, from which this area takes its name; this shopping zone is one of the few places where people can see a mixture of the old and new world. The Heunginjimun gate is one of the Eight Gates of Seoul.
This area is a part of the Jongno – gu district and it effectively comprises over twenty six shopping malls, thirty thousand specialty shops and selling products from over fifty thousand manufacturers. This shopping zone is divided into five areas namely A, B, C, D and a shopping town of sorts.
The largest bustling market in Seoul, the place is known for its array of fresh offerings and hordes of visitors.
