This Catholic place of worship was built in Baroque architectural style in 1759. It replaced and older Naval School of the city. Later it functioned as a warehouse and a theater. However in the 20th century it was restored to its function as a place of prayer, and in the 21st century it was enlarged to become the building you see in front of you today. Like other churches in the city it is a lot more impressive on the inside then it suggests from the outside. Check out the Neomudejar coffered ceiling, the Baroque altarpiece, the relief of God, the chapel of the Sacrament, and the chapel of St. John the Evangelist. The church celebrates various festivals in the month of February, March, June and December.
