  • Go to Joyce & Rita booth 129, excellent service, made me a cashmere 3 piece suit and cashmere trench coat, great fit, beautiful finish, small adjustment made to shirt and they delivered it straight to me. Price was worth it. Absolutely would buy again.

  • beware of people trying to rob you blind - some places offer excellent service but make sure to be very specific or you might get a garment you didn't expect. I paid around 350 Y for a beautiful silk dress but I brought my own silk and was told later that people pay that kind of money fabric incl. so I felt a little silly but the dress is amazing

  • Joyce and Rita at #129 are absolutely fantastic. They go above and beyond. The shirts fit so well at the fitting I ordered 4 more to be delivered to the hotel! Can’t recommend them more!

  • Good fabric sold for low prices. Best if you can negotiate in Mandarin and if you have something specific in mind so you can compare prices at a few different stalls. The market also has electronics, accessories, etc. Take exit 3 from Nanpu Bridge station.

  • After reading good reviews about this place, I made it my first stop in Shanghai. I didn't have a very good experience here. The place overall is a large building packed with small booths, owned by different people. There are a lot of foreigners, so they jack up the prices. Qipao tended to go for 2000 RMB. Dresses about 400 RMB. Expect 1-2 weeks to get your clothes. Be weary, as there are good and bad stalls. I met an Australian lady who loved all of the things that she got, but I did not have such a great experience. I ended up ordering 2 dresses from a lady, Zheng Shu Qing at 295 B on the second floor. That was a MISTAKE! She took my measurements, and measured a few inches too big on purpose. She told me they pre-washed the fabric, so it would shrink down to what my measurements actually were. Nope! The finished product was a few sizes too big on me. Normally, I would have brought it back to get it altered, but there was a family emergency and I had to leave Shanghai. When we tried to contact her, she kept making excuses or flat out ignoring us. From what we had gathered, she didn't even make the clothes herself and outsourced it to someone else. There was a different building right down the street from it that seemed more reasonable bc it wasn't so famous. Take a left as you're coming out of the South Bund Fabric Market and it's about a 2 min walk. The qipao were about 1000 RMB there instead.
