About Central Souq, Sharjah

Housed inside an architecturally marvellous structure (it is one of the most photographed buildings in Sharjah), the Blue Souk is where you should head over to if you want to shop till you drop! Home to over 600 shops, the souk is embellished in blue tiling thus giving it the name. Also known as Central Market, the souk has traders selling items such as electrical goods, traditional as well as antique jewellery, kitchen utensils, gold, famous UAE gems, perfumes, souvenirs and even Arabic carpets.

Central Souq, Sharjah Reviews

  • Good place for shopping for cheap clothes, toys, video games, and jewellery. Kids can have fun here with quick snacks while you shop. Also there are a couple of coffee shops.

  • 2 long and doible storey buildings interconnected with foot bridges, One building is dedicated to textile and the other one is all about gold and silver, you can buy different kind of gold and even sale your old gold. Always negotiate prices, you can save some money and go home with a nice feeling of good deal. Public paid parking available and a nice walking area along the Sharjah creek.

  • Great place to find rugs or all origins and qualities. Make sure you haggle and have plenty of time to spare. Visit several stores and examine designs and get a good indication of price before moving to the next. Much better prices than in Dubai. Apart from the rug and pashmina stores there are no other places of interest.
