Coptic Church - Review
Walk through the entire Bible in picture after picture of loveliness in this serene and beautiful church. Beautiful inside and out, the church is among the oldest in the country, perhaps in the world. Its many colourful frescoes, paintings, lighting, stained glass and the lovely glass bottomed boat ride all combine to make a special, irreplaceable experience. If you visit, stick around for the mass or the service; its hauntingly beautiful. Definitely get the guide to show you around; he’s immensely knowledgeable and educated about the significance of the place, and very friendly. Visitors often comment that the church makes a great contrast to the mosque right adjacent to it, and that though it feel similar to the famous Basilica of Sacre Coeur, it feels lighter. They say just 2 artists with seventeen assistants painted everything here.
