Us Air Force Base Reviews & Ratings
Wonderful place, try the chicken.
Enjoyed the airshow but leaving the "parking lot" was chaos. There were people there that I am guessing were supposed to be guiding traffic but they were just standing around. Despite that small thing I would highly recommend going.
I was stationed here between '86 and '92. I loved Shaw, but Sumter and the surrounding area is clearly the reason for every white trash & redneck joke ever conceived.
This a lovely base! It is efficient and friendly and appears to be well run! I have enjoyed going to base since I was a child with my wonderful grandparents! My Great Aunt also worked here until I was 16.
Many memories of Shaw. I lived here in early 70's while in USAF. Would do it all over again if possible!
