Nice place with green gardens and a little lake with ducks that walk about outside your rooms in the morning. This place is big but its easy to find your way around because of the arrows pointing you in the right direction. Birds are heard through out the day and a little path beside the lake is good for walking dogs. Unluckily there were repairs in the swimming pool and sauna on my stay but the gym was still good.
Beautiful setting and location for our visit. However, with 3 or 4 wedding receptions it made for a very noisy night. Good luck to all the young couples; pleased that their guests had a great night but if you want a good night's sleep be aware that the may be large numbers of people celebrating -as they should- and corridor traffic and noise levels can be quite high throughout the night.
I feel the hotel needs an interior face lift. The room I stayed in was dated and the bed was old and past its best. Cleanliness was good in the en-suite bathroom but the bedroom itself was not so good ( food around the margins of the bed on the floor, dusty and dirty in the corners, cobwebs ).. We were above the restaurant and the music from the restaurant could clearly be heard in our room, this started from breakfast time until close of the restaurant at the end of evening. Evening meal in the restaurant was a disaster & definitely not worth the money. Breakfast was average, unfortunately many items like the bacon and sausages were cold. Would have been nice to know that vegetarian sausages had to be ordered and were not available on the self service hot food section.
A fabulous place, an oasis in the city, so peaceful. The rooms and facilities are awesome, the staff can't do enough for you. Definitely well worth a visit. Pet friendly too.
We stayed two nights with our dog and had a wonderful time, the hotel was set in 12 acres of grounds with a lake, the grounds were well looked after and a great place to walk the dog, top marks for this :) The hotel itself was a former hall with a lovely large extension on that included a spa and swimming pool. Food in the bar was good, maybe a little expensive but we expect to pay a little more at a 4star hotel. Breakfast was buffet style and included just about everything you could think of. All the staff we met were very friendly (especially towards the dog) they were helpful and well presented. We had no complaints about anything during our stay.
