Primrose Trout Farm is one of the longest-running and most popular public sports fishing pond facilities of Ontario which was established in 1982. To enjoy fishing here, you wouldn’t require a license. The fishing farm offers fly fishing and bait fishing ponds and when bait fishing, you would actually get to keep your catch. However, when fly fishing; you would have to release your catch back into the pond. The ponds here are stocked with the farm’s own raised fishes and one of the most popular catches here is the rainbow trout. The Primrose Trout Farm provides warms and tackles and would also provide all the necessary assistance to beginners.

Primrose Trout Farm Reviews & Ratings

  • A pristine location close to the city. A great location to purchase Rainbow and Brook trout or wet your fly in their fish out ponds. I have purchased Rainbows here for 4 yrs with great success. I would definitely recommend the business.

  • Great place for kids to fish. Guaranteed to catch trout. Kids loved it, but my wallet didn't. 9 dollars per pound for whatever you catch. No catch and release.

  • There is a pond which is only for fly fishing Cath and release. Fish is decent and good fighter. Good place for improving fly skills. Better if there will be more hospitality.

  • Great place a bit pricey but its ok

  • Great farm to fish for trout. I suggest you go early. They provide tackle, worms, and will help out beginners. Fish are jumping so don't expect to be there for long. They charge a nominal fee for line rental and equipment as well as the weight of the fish. I loved the experience. You also don't have to get a fishing license for fish on thier property. Bring something to carry the fish in( we brought a cooler)
