Shevgaon is a city in Shevgaon tehsil of Ahmednagar in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Shevgaon was traditionally been "shiv" or boundary between western Maharashtra and Marathwada regions. Many villages of this tehsil were sub-merged into waters of Jayakwadi dam in the 1970s. Earlier Shevgaon was known as Shivgram because there were Five Shiv mandir's around the city.
