Lady Hydari Park - Review
Out of the places to visit in Shillong, this is the most enchanting one. This magnificent garden enthralls with its green lawns, well manicured outdoors and varieties of flora adorning the Park. This unmissable picnic spot is run and maintained by the forest department and also is a home to animals in a mini-zoo.
The children's park nearby is quite crowded with numerous kids coming there to play and enjoy the spacious park. Stretching over half a kilometer, this huge park is quite close to the mesmerizing Crinoline Falls. After a day of sight-seeing and walking in the park, if you feel too tired to go to the falls, you can enjoy a cool dip in the city's only pool, which has the same name as that of the falls.

Lady Hydari Park, Shillong Reviews
Any place that is close to nature is always a pleasant one. The park is located in Shillong proper. It has a small museum inside with pictures of indigenous flora and fauna, some stuffed animals, skins, etc. Apart from that, it has birds, especially the swan, geese, etc. which remain near the water spots. The park has got children's recreational facilities. Lot of places to take photos. Good hang out destination with friends and family. Seasonal flowers increase the beauty of the place.
Awesome park at shillong. Being a park they provide you with total ambience of a great foundation , well maintained bushes and garden , zoo occupying bears, monkeys, deer, owls, eagles and fox.If you are lucky you will see them . they might be sleeping inside their place or lazy enough to give you a gaze. A small animal museum also available. You could roam around , take a glance at the Beauty around you ,take pics and leave. If you love to watch the wild life..worth a visit
Nice place for a family with small kids. Well maintained park. You can see lot of animals and birds. Plenty of area to walk around and a forest museum gives you a good lots of information. The entry fee is only Rs 10 and you need not pay for the zoo or the forest museum. Youngsters are to be controlled by the security people as they are involving in obscene scenes in the open place. It is annoying to the family visitors.
This park is amazing with an open space where you can find a lot of trees. Animals are caged. I like black bear of Himalaya most here. Walking around here is soothing and environment is calm. Not so far from Shillong city and a place you can spend 20-30 minutes.
Great to spend a few hours with the family. There is a children's play area with swings, slides, and merry-go-rounds that are quite old and could do with safer and more child friendly replacements. Lots of well kept flowers beds. Animal land area has monkeys, bears, birds, deers, owls although in not so spacious enclosures. Mondays closed. Crowded on holidays.
