Lady Hydari Park - Review
Out of the places to visit in Shillong, this is the most enchanting one. This magnificent garden enthralls with its green lawns, well manicured outdoors and varieties of flora adorning the Park. This unmissable picnic spot is run and maintained by the forest department and also is a home to animals in a mini-zoo.
The children's park nearby is quite crowded with numerous kids coming there to play and enjoy the spacious park. Stretching over half a kilometer, this huge park is quite close to the mesmerizing Crinoline Falls. After a day of sight-seeing and walking in the park, if you feel too tired to go to the falls, you can enjoy a cool dip in the city's only pool, which has the same name as that of the falls.

Lady Hydari Park, Shillong Reviews
A must go. You'll find all sorts of birds and animals. Bears, Owls, Birds, Tortoise, Ducks, Rare Birds. Also has a wildlife museum. Find attached the images. The museum boasts of multiple attractive replicas and original pieces of leopard skins, python scales, elephant skulls, etc.
Nice place to hangout with family and friends. Good place for children too. Very clean place and well maintained. Must go with family and friends. Entry price are also cheap.
Lady Hydari Park is named after the first lady of the area, wife of the first Governor of Assam; Shillong being under Assam administration during the British occupation. Along with Ward’s Lake it is the best maintained park in the city. A small house inside the park also houses a museum. The museum main aim is to highlight the State’s rich biodiversity. You get to see stuffed leopard, skulls of elephant, photos of rare animals found in the state and surprisingly the dried skin of python clipped to the wall.
A pretty much crappy park with a poorly maintained mini zoo. Definitely a place a traveler or a tourist can skip. A good morning or evening walk for locals this place can provide, nothing else. This place has a history, if one wants to know, he can from the office or a guide.
Small cozy place. Few animals and flowers. Wide space for gathering. Nice place for short hangout.
