Shillong Golf Club - Review
Out of all the places to visit in Shillong, Golf course in the most unique one! Shillong enjoys the rare privilege of having the largest and the only natural golf course in the whole of Asia. This golf course is also known as the Gleneagles of the East. Golf was introduced in Shillong in 1898 by a group of British civil service officers after the constructed a 9-hole course. Presently it has an 18-hole course, which was inaugurated in 1924. Even if you are not a diehard fan of golf, the beauty of the place is bound to keep you mesmerized.
The course in located in a scenic valley surrounded by pine and rhododendron trees, which is also home to many varieties of birds. As you take a stroll through these trees, the chirping of the birds will fill your heart with music. Shillong Golf Club, Shillong Reviews
One of the sight seeing points of Shillong. It's amazing to find such good ground. So well maintained and clean. You can easily reach the place by bus or cab. The commute is really easy and the distance also isn't much far. Do visit once if you're in the city.
Heaven on earth. Indians are yet to be aware of the beauty of this city in North East. Or else this would be crowded with tourists round the year. We stayed there for a night amidst curfew in the city due to some local skirmish. But wish we could stay longer. The beauty and purity of this place can not be describe in Words.
Great place to hangout. I do not even remember how many times i visited this place. When I have time and in stress I used to walk here. It is a good place to get fresh air. You can go with your friends, family and your dear ones. :) Good place for selfie lovers too..
It's the best place to hangout with friends. Lie in the grass, look at the sky and hear the birds singing. It is also a good place for families and safe for children to run around and play
The golf course, made by the British, is very beautiful. It can give some excellent background if the day is clear and sunny. However one thing I must say is that the grounds are in somewhat poor condition. Locals as well as tourists come and spend time sitting and walking on the grounds. As a result, loads of plastic packets are strewn all over the place. From chips to water bottles to soft drinks all kinds of plastic litters are there. Alas! This is one place in Meghalaya where there should have been an entry fee but instead of here, the Khasi applied fees to some worthless ‘tourist attractions’.
