Indian Institute of Advanced Study, popularly known as IIAS is one of the premier institutes in India that graduates many talented people for India. Located on the picturesque location of Observatory hill, this institute produces quality education for the young generation of India. This institute was established in 1964 and was inaugurated by Dr. S. Radhakrishnan who was the former President of India. The building in which this institute is housed, is a historical structure of much value. It was originally built for the purpose of being home to Lord Duffein, who acted as the Viceroy of India during the years 1884 and 1888. After that, certain significant historic decisions such as the Shimla Conference of 1945 and the Separation of Pakistan and East Pakistan in 1947 were taken here. Its historicity can be ascertained from the fact that the building is made up of grey stone and exotic Burmese teak which render it a British charm. Many scenes of the Bollywood movie Black have been shot in this institute.
