Kali Bari Temple, Shimla Reviews

  • The temple is clean, less crowded and and nice. It offers guest house and canteen also. I stayed here two night, it is near to mall road, the view is nice from the temple premise, the room and food are extremely good compared to the charges which is extremely cheap. The stuffs are very helpful too.

  • Situated at the far end of Mall road, the temple provides a typical Bengali ambience in the evening with an elaborate aarti and worship that has been continuing for many years now. The monkey infested temple is one of the must go places for devotees and tourists alike. (Photography is normally forbidden)

  • This is a very clean and hygienic temple located at the far end of Mall Road. Be careful about glasses, camera etc if the monkeys are present. It has a guest house and canteen (nominal charge compared to other food & lodging in this area) The Temple of Kali Bari was constructed in 1845 by Ram Charan Bhramachari, a Bengali Brahmin. Dedicated to goddess Shyamali/Shyamala, synonym of Kali, the name of Shimla may have come from here. Historically, the original idol was located on Jakhu hill and was brought to the current location by the British for easier mass access. A Shiva temple is also there in the temple courtyard, the view of Shimla from here is fantastic.

  • It was my first point to visit in Shimla when I was on trip. I started my journey from old bus standto this temple. When I was here in Haryana one thing was in my mind that Shimla will be same as Haryana in 'are of land. When I visited there found temple is 2km far from me due to ok hill area. Yes the way to this temple is very very beautiful. Clean and cool location. I was here for 20 minutes and was feeling like in a very very amazing location. I mean I do not have words. @kali bari temple mujhe bulane ke liye Dhanyawad. I wish to visit again.

  • As of my view Shimla Kalibari Temple Guest house is one of the best accommodation specially for budget travellers. We visited this place on 25 December 2017.Rooms were clean and well maintained. Stuffs were very friendly and most of them were very familiar with Bengali language ,so it's an advantage for bengali speaking people. Let's talk something about folding point of view, well it was just awesome. Very Hygienic and very cheap as well.we had standard non veg thali(fish) and veg thali each Rs 60/ and Rs 55/ accordingly. Snacks were also very cheap and best.Hope my review will help you to explore this palce in a better way.
