The tomb of Saadi, as the name suggests, is the final resting place of Shiraz Sa’adi, the famous philosopher, poet and an influential man in Persian culture. After his death, the mausoleum was built in 1950’s at the same place where his home was situated. Sa’adi Shirazi was a wise man who lived in the medieval period. His fame was such that it extended through the boundaries of Persian countries and got recognised worldwide. It is a beautiful tomb surrounded by flowers and trees and greenery. The architecture of the tomb structure is admirable as well, with its thoroughly detailed carvings and art-filled façade. The Persian art can be easily witnessed in every aspect of it and that’s what makes it such an important place for historians and art lovers. Just a little away from the main hall, where the tomb is placed, is a small underground pool with lots of goldfish. Ensure to check it out when you come here. A visit to this place will help you see the history of Iran in a different way. Not with the eyes of a tourist, but a person who has understood the nuances of Iranian culture.
