Commonly called the ‘Smoky Mary’s’ because of the incense sticks that are continuously burning, the Church of St Mary the Virgin is an Episcopal Catholic church in Manhattan. It is located in the busy street in the middle of Times Square. It was built in the 19th century and is heavily influenced by Gothic style of architecture. It is a beautiful ornate church decorated with spectacular murals. The church has a wonderful choir and tourists gather to hear them sing. Mass is held here regularly and the clergy is friendly. They welcome tourists from all over the world throughout the year.
