To spend a great day out with your children, you can always count on going to the Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea. It is a non-profit aquarium that aims to make people aware of the Salish Sea and its ecosystem. The aquarium started its voyage in the year 2009 and then it used to be known as the Shaw Ocean Discovery Centre. Children feel amazed here as they get to learn a lot about sea and sea creatures in a practical way. The most significant exhibits of the aquarium are plankton, jelly fish, Sea nettles, Moon Jellys, algae and much more. You can also see Wolf Eel, marine plants, Giant Pacific Octopus, Painted greenling, King Crab, and Chinook salmon here.

  • The Shaw Centre for the Salish Sea was a great place for a small afternoon adventure. The entrance into the aquarium was fun and pretty exciting. I really loved the touching pool and when they fed the eels. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable. I only wish there were more exhibits in this aquarium because I didn't want it to end!

  • It's a great little aquarium. The touch tanks were the best part in my option. I also really enjoyed the microscopes and seeing the starfish move. It's pretty crazy to think that they move so slowly. The octopus was of course a highlight. The kelp forest was also super neat. Overall I would come back.

  • Had so much fun here! It was a really great place for kids and had some pretty great interactive exhibits. A little small, but they make do with the space they have very well!

  • As others have pointed out, it's on the small side. However the quality of presentation is excellent and one could spend a long time here soaking up the details. Our young boys loved it though they did charge through it pretty quickly. Overall I recommend a visit here.

  • What we did see was good! But this was very small for a crazy price-- $38 (DISCOUNT) for an experience that took all of 15 minutes, 20 if you read everything. The submarine door entrance was an incredible way to begin the experience, and in all honesty, aside from the jellyfish you get to see, was pretty much the only part I'll remember. I want to love it, but I just can't :(
