Pros: - The hostel is clean, affordable and the staff friendly and helpful. - They have a restaurant on the top floor, the food was good and cheap. - They have free water which is a big plus giving the prices of water in Siem Reap (1$ for the big bottle of water). Cons: - The beds aren't comfortable (dorm room) and there is no window in the room. - It's really really noisy! Just near Pub street, I didn't have a proper night sleep while I was there. - I had a room on the 3rd floor, just under the restaurant, I could hear the footsteps of the staff and of the clients.
When first walking into oasis, you're greeted by an extremely warm welcome by the reception. Polite, friendly and extremely good English. The rooms are very comfortable with good air conditioning. The upstairs rooftop bar is very relaxing, providing a variety of food, shakes and hot beverages served always with a smile. I met with the manager whom I sat and shared stories of both our origins. He is an extremely kind hearted and giving gentleman, if you stay here (which I recommend) you will not be disappointed. If you're travelling through and budgeting yourself then this is the place to stay.
My first surprise was how pleasant and helpful the front desk staff were. They greeted me every evening and morning with their smile and always extending to helping hand. All staff at the desk spoke good English which helped out a lot in the experience. One of my favorites was the sky lounge area on the enclosed roof top. Its modern yet comfortable layout helped me relax (even took a small nap on top of bean bags) The staff helped me arrange the tour to see temples at Angor Wat as well as an amazing tour to see the Fishing Villages and watch the sunset on the big lake. I had a chance to meet the owner of this beautiful hostel and further learn that that unlike other guesthouses and hostels, this one is a community partnership that empowers people to learn and grow and help them establish a career path.... the owner is passionate about helping his community - it made my stay so much more special > knowing that my money was helping a community and not just a business :-)
What a great find Siem Reap has so much budget accomodation to choose from and over the past few years I have stayed in a few. I would have to rate Oasis Capsules the best yet its location is perfect the staff could not be more welcoming or helpful. The place is spotlessly clean and very comfortable beds. I enjoyed the upstairs common room where they served great breakfast for a very reasonable price. I would recommend this place to anyone considering budget accommodation in Siem Reap.
I stayed here for 3 nights and this hostel has everything that you need and nothing you don't. If you wanna meet some cool people there is the rooftop bar and if you want your privacy there are your capsule dorm beds. They also contribute to helping the underprivileged by contributing a percentage of every booking to charitable causes. So that's a great way of staying and helping the locals in SR.
