This is one of the oldest temples in Angkor. It was a state temple in the era of King Rajendravarman. This was a funeral site in the olden times and evidence of the same is still available in the carvings on the wall. The temple is huge, they call it the Mountain Temple. The use of bricks in its building makes this temple different from other Angkor temples. The climb to the top won’t seem so tiring as you are busy being overwhelmed by the scale of it. The view from the top is rewarding. Prepare to feel as if you are part of an Indiana Jones adventure!
