Piazza Del Campo - Review
An important civic and social location, Piazza del Campo is a sloping square that has not changed much since the 12th century. The square has been host to the risque games played by locals and has also seen celebrated artistes admire its beauty. The copy of the Gaia fountain adds to the ethereal feel of the square.
Feel engulfed with fascinating history and incredible architecture at Piazza del Campo that was once a Roman marketplace. Representing a pizza, the square is divided in nine sections that represent the number of people in the council. It is now host to artistes, musicians, tourist and locals who want to take inspiration in its gorgeous beauty. There are a number of interesting restaurants that surround this square.

Piazza Del Campo, Siena Reviews
After a long morning of fantastic sight seeing in the most beautiful city and having seen may of the attractions it has to offer we decided to eat here. The service was quick and efficient the staff were professional and courteous. Although not the cheapest restaurant in the area the spectacular view of the picturesque and historical square was reflected in the cost of the meal.
A spectacular medieval plaza with a wonderful vibe. Could have spent hours here just people watching. The drinking taps near the fountains are an elegant touch, and bring joy to both young and old alike. Perhaps my favourite was the tower acting as a giant sundial.
Walking down, down, down, into the city center then down the steps into the Piazza del Campo, is awe inspiring. To see these beautiful buildings from the 1300s and the Piazza that came sloping together from 3 villages, is a walk back into Medieval times. Sit on the bricks on the ground of the square or sit around in one of the many cafes around the edge take time to enjoy and imagine the history of what could have happened here. Stroll around in today's world to find plenty of souvenir shops too. Check the calendar of events as this city center still hosts many events.
Tourists go to Florence, locals go to Sienna. Such a good vibe in the evenings in the Piazza. Whether you're reading a good book, people watching, or eating you're going to feel like you're a part of the life of the city... unless its race day in which case you feel like you're at the center of the universe.
This is one wonderful place to visit. If you manage to find the right bar without any obstructions, you sure will be in for a good view and a wonderful time! This is one of the best places I've been to so far while visiting Tuscany!
