Esplanade Theatres On The Bay - Review

Locally referred to as the ‘durian Esplanade’ by the locales, this theatre is one of the busiest art centers in the world with about 3,000performances held annually. The structure features a bold and elegant design and looks quite appealing to tourists as well as locales. Witness a night show, add shopping to it, and top the day with some good food at one of their restaurants. The outdoor theatre is located at the Marina bay waterfront and the view from here is spectacular.

Esplanade is one of the attractions added in three days in Singapore. Must visit this awesome attraction.

Esplanade Theatres On The Bay, Singapore Reviews

  • Really great place to watch a performance! I enjoy the overall energy this whole area brings to the city! Great performers, musicians and bands. I love the view by the water and overall the selection of bars and restaurants as well as street vendors does not dissappoint! If you are in Singapore, you do need to check this area out! 👌

  • Icon for Singapore. Its a theatre hall and the whole area has fair food places, a hawker lane in the evenings and an open air amphitheatre that often showcases local musical talent against the backdrop of the Marina bay. Good place to have a few drinks in the evening. Photo opportunity against the MBS which is across the bay. Pleasant place to walk.

  • This is where you can find the artistic side of Singapore. The bold architecture shaped like 2 durians or some said looks like eyes of a fly, had in the beginning attracted lots of critics but they looked great upon completion; blending well with the landscape. There are lots of performances on weekend to inspire the young ones.

  • Place with free music in the indoor common area, seating is available. Nice place to relax for a bit and gather some culture. Upstairs has an art gallery, the times I've been there the gallery is free. The main theater is where you can see production plays. Normally they suck tho. Haven't seen a good one there yet.

  • Probably still the best performing arts venue in town despite the recent competition. Location is great as well as the amenities. The venues have been well maintained. Performances tend to be lower-priced compared to other venues. Note that the concert hall and theatre are equipped with cell signal jammer: great for those who wish to fully enjoy the performances but maybe not so great if you are on-call for work.
