One of the historic landmarks of Singapore, Fort Canning has been a silent witness to the series of empires rising and falling over the period of years. Used as a military building during WW II, its various structures were used as canning bunker and battle box during the war. This is also where the decision to surrender the island to the Japanese was taken by the British army.
