  • I like the food and ambience here in general. The v staff are attentive and knowledgeble. Their soup of the day is always tasty. Book the meats in advance to be assured of their availability. Their truffle noodles are also very good.

  • I had a very disappointing experience at GWC Imperial Treasure. A $9 fish dish I ordered was not available and the lady captain suggested it be replaced by another fish dish. At no time did she inform me that the dish would cost $84! This is daylight robbery! As I was with guests, I did not make a fuss upon seeing and signing the bill. But I was really horrified! I then wrote to their FB page and subsequently to their marketing department to inform them about what had happened. They acknowledged that the captain should have not recommended it or at least should have informed me of the very wide price difference. All the other dishes I ordered were no more than $18 each! There was a lot of explanation about the price per kg of fish, and justifying why it was not too wrong of the captain for doing what she did! All I was assured of is that the staff will be advised to be more careful in future. It is easiest to reply this way! At no time, did I, as an upset customer, feel that they were indeed sorry. There was no attempt at making a positive act of service recovery, such as a small voucher or gesture of any kind to make me feel better. I am not expecting a free meal. The $84 fish has been consumed, but just a small gesture would have made the difference. I would expect a restaurant of such high repute to go the extra mile in customer service. So my advice is to always ask for the price of recommended dishes in this restaurant. I have not heard further from them as they probably deemed the case closed and I am no loss to them, as I only order $9 fish dish and not worthy to be their customer. Perhaps if I were someone they deemed important or rich, they would act differently. To be fair, the waitresses who served us and quality of food were fine so I have no issue with this.

  • Slightly higher price but definitely higher quality Dim Sum

  • A nice menu with loads of Chinese special dishes and good wines, and the food quality is good. However, we got the first three dishes and it took about 20 minutes and a reminder to the waitress to deliver the fourth dish, which was missing until then. Inacceptable was that we ordered a wine which i know quite well and it had a touch of cork. Not only my friend but also i noticed this musty smell and taste. The waitress took it back and suggested that we could order another one, but 5 minutes later a (the?) manager, an older man, came and insisted that there was no cork and that the wine was fine, stating that if we order a wine we have to take it. (which is fair if the wine is good, however this bottle had a problem) The situation was quite embarassing for my friend who invited me to celebrate a nice happening and had to argue (!) with that manager in front of me, who would at no price take back this corky wine. I will not ever go to that place again, nor will i recommend it to anybody. So good food but horrible service which almost spoiled the whole evening. At that price, you can find a lot of places with same quality but better service.
