About Ronin, Singapore

A rōnin (浪人, "drifter" or "wanderer", i.e. "he who drifts/wanders") was a samurai without lord or master during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan. A samurai became masterless from the death or fall of his master, or after the loss of his master's favor or privilege. In modern Japanese usage, the term also describes a salaryman who is unemployed or a secondary school graduate who has not yet been admitted to university.

  • A typical hipster cafe but their specialty drink , the whicked , which is basically mint mocha is really good. Well balanced between the mint and the mocha taste. It's easy to miss the entrance as it is reflective dark glasses without obvious sign. So go closed and explore !

  • Seen a few cafes in my life, this is up there. Order the eggs and a strong flat white and you will quickly understand. I travel blocks to come here. Finish with the chocolate brownie.

  • The place is well located; the atmosphere is cosy and hipster. While the service was not as good as I expected: it was full and we have to wait 10 minutes (that’s quite normal) but then, they ran out of cups and we had to take our coffee in plastic cups and the order was taken 10 minutes after the assigned us a table.

  • Great place to hang out in the weekend. The mocha mint is wickedly good.

  • Very good coffee and good food. If you enjoyed good service remember to tip as there's no service charge.
