About Ronin, Singapore

A rōnin (浪人, "drifter" or "wanderer", i.e. "he who drifts/wanders") was a samurai without lord or master during the feudal period (1185–1868) of Japan. A samurai became masterless from the death or fall of his master, or after the loss of his master's favor or privilege. In modern Japanese usage, the term also describes a salaryman who is unemployed or a secondary school graduate who has not yet been admitted to university.

  • Amazing little hipster brunch place.. reminds me of Portland! Great mint mocha and scrambled eggs are some of the best I've had anywhere. The French toast was pretty good too.. why the 4 stars then, they don't accept credit cards... its cash only.. and I thought Singapore was hi-tech!! Hope they change that soon.

  • Very enjoyable experience at Ronin. Brunch seems to be their specialty. Scrambled eggs on toast is well executed with an assortment of options for sides suitable for carnivores and veggie eaters alike. Coffee is solid too. Their service is top notch though. Attentive and friendly. You will have to expect to pay the hipster premium though.

  • I don’t know if this is the best coffee in Singapore, because after I had one, I could not go anywhere else. The coffee is delicious! The staff are cool and friendly, they make an excellent soy flat white, regular flat white and the food is good too.

  • Always a pleasure coming to this place. The service here two thumbs up. Unfortunately, I didn't get the name of what seems to be the host of the place but I thought he really enjoys his job and was very nice and friendly. I really really enjoy the extra sinful french toast so so much. Could do with just a bitttt more bacon though. Coffee and latte was good. We also got a iced chocolate afterwards which I would have enjoyed more if they waited just a bit for the chocolate and milk to melt and mix in a little before adding in the ice cubes. Don't really have much to add about the eggs on toast, it is, eggs on toast. And we paid a little more for the avocado and sausage.

  • A typical hipster cafe but their specialty drink , the whicked , which is basically mint mocha is really good. Well balanced between the mint and the mocha taste. It's easy to miss the entrance as it is reflective dark glasses without obvious sign. So go closed and explore !
