Shophouse The Social Hostel, Singapore Reviews
I stayed here for four nights. I waited for around two hours before checking in because the receptionist wasn't in her desk and the telephone on the hostel card wasn't working when I tried calling. And she's the farthest thing from friendly (the one with the nose ring). The cleaning guy tried to be 'chummy' with young female guests. I saw him touch two female guests during my stay there (those were non sexual touches but it was still sexual harassment). And when I passed him by without saying 'excuse me' he got upset. There's no drinking water other than tap water, breakfast starts at 8:30am (pretty late for me) and there's no kitchen and I didn't see a washing machine either (I stayed on the third floor). The bathrooms could use a lot of improvement. If you are not awfully broke, you can easily find a better place to stay with just a couple more bucks. The only thing this place has going for it is the rooftop.
All good. Bathrooms are clean. Little dirty in female dorm but it's caused another visitor. I almost couldn't enter the hostel because the owner didn't give me hostel key, just locker key.
Terrible. It's super convenient and the WiFi is alright, but the rest is... Just terrible. Avoid this place at all cost, especially if you're a light sleeper. P. S. If you ignore this review and decide to book anyway, just know that if your bed happens to be on the 4th floor, then it's your fault. Just saying.
It was a chic hostel with a good rooftop to chill and a resto downstairs. Only thing is their reception is open only at certain times so for late night or early morning check in would be impossible I think but for check out you have to make sure you have everything settled. Also, it's walking distance from Queen Street Terminal.
It's one of the strategic hostels I found in Arab Street and just 5 minutes walk from Haji Lane. It offers you dormitory (female, male, mix) and private rooms. Free breakfast at the rooftop. There's a cafe on the lower ground that you can visit. #LetsGuide
