February: Madri Gras is celebrated with much enthusiasm in Sintra. This carnivalesque environment involves many a fancy dress gatherings, street parties, music and dance performances etc. The festival takes place between late February and early March.
June: The Sintra Festival is a large part of Sintra’s festive spirit. It is a musical fest that lasts till the end of August and involves a variety of musical performances in different locations around the city.
July: Festas dos Santos Populares is an international jazz festival that takes place every year in neighbouring Cascais.
November: 1st of November is celebrated as All Soul’s Day in remembrance of all those who have passed away.
December: While new year’s eve is a time of excitement in any town, Sintra’s rocky hills and vast coastline becomes a popular spot for checking out fireworks and celebrations in nearby villages and towns when the clock strikes 12.
