The foothills of Sintra end in this gorgeous destination of Guincho Beach that opens up to the massive Atlantic Ocean. The beach is sort of a celebrity it was featured in James Bond’s ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’.
This beach is a very popular spot for wind surfing and board surfing. Even if water sports are not your thing, take up the cycling route to this adorable location early in the morning and take in the silence of the shore. Rent a chair at the beach and laze around to your heart’s content. The beach has a variety of good restaurants and bars as well which makes it an ideal party spot at night.
If on the other hand you do get inspired by the surfers and their swagger, you can always learn at the surf school on the beach. Camping areas and villas are situated close to the beach.

The beach is beautiful, wild, no construction. Not far from the capital but so beautiful! We absolutely loved it, there is also lots of surfers, waves are huge!
Perfect for windsurfing, for normal bather is better to find other spot because of the wind. They have good parking available (2EUR all day) and a pool that you can pay to stay all day with a bar.
This is a Wild Wild Beach. Be careful with the sea tides and the strong wind. Perfect for Kite Surfing.
Beautiful, but always very windy. Perfect for wind surfers. If you want to really swim in the ocean I’d rather go to beaches around Caparica or Sesimbra
Amazing beach, dunes and view of Sintra. Just be careful with the sea... if the flag is yellow don't challenge it. If it's red, just enjoy it from afar.
