Zubarah Fort is located in a deserted town of Zubarah near Qatar. This was built in the early nineteenth century as a Qatari military fortress. Declared as the UNESCO world heritage site in 2013, it is also recognized as one of the largest archeological site in this area. The town was once a hustling and bustling merchant village but was slowly deserted before a couple of decades. The fort has been converted into a museum that has detailed displays.
