The old bazaar was never used for living, it always was a shopping area and contact zone of the Christian and the Muslim population as they lived in separate parts of the town.Although some portions of the old bazaar have been replaced with parking lots and streets, it is still the biggest bazaar in the Balkans

  • Nice atmosphere, interesting scene. We loved it here! Definitely a must to visit place. If you look for authentic tastes, dig a bit deeper and don't make it easy with the tourist places.

  • This bazaar or marketplace, it's a unique place where you can meet the history in modern time. A lot of authentic shops from the history are still remain at the same place. Wonderful place to spent time. Everybody is nice and polite and willing to help if you need any assistance. Hope to see ya all at this meeting point.

  • This is a great place for shopping and for Islamic culture. It is not very crowded and you can find marvellous things with very good prices. Moreover I felt safe and people were very friendly and nice. It is very close to the fortress. I recommend it for walking and achieving quality products, especially leather footwear.

  • Just a unique beautiful feel. People friendly. Food good & cheap. Best to stay a night in old Town rather than across the bridge

  • History, religion, food, culture, atmosphere... the list goes on. It was my first time here... although it does have that authentic feel, touristic amenities seems to be coming in fast. Nice to visit and wonder around. Every corner is differen. For shopping I think there are better places unless you are looking for that particular souvenir to take back home which will keep reminding you of Skopje.
