Triveni Sangam Ghat - Review

Triveni Ghat holds a very important place in Hindu Mythology and history. Notable mentions about this very Ghat can be found in the Puranas and epics like Mahabharata and Ramayana. Triveni Ghat is the confluence of three holy rivers which are Hiran, Kapil and Saraswati (A legendary river mentioned in many Hindu scriptures but dried up centuries ago). This makes the spot religiously very important as it is believed by the devotees that a dip in the water here can wash off all sins and make one reach closer to God. The Ghat has a very deep philosophical symbolization itself as the merging of the rivers and their eventual pooling into the sea itself symbolizes the cycle of birth, life and death and that every mortal being has to go through it.
