Donum Estate specialises in the production of pinot noir and chardonnay. Their vineyards are in Carneros, Russian River Valley and Anderson Valley. The bottles are named after the vineyard from which the grapes are grown. You will find varieties like West Slope Carneros Estate Pinot Noir, Angel Camp Anderson Valley Estate Pinot Noir or Russian River Estate Pinot Noir on the shelves of this winery. According to the owners, the grapes grown at each of their vineyard affect the taste of the wine they make and hence they prefer to sell the specific tastes. Pinot noir is their speciality, but Donum Estate makes a decent Chardonnay too. To keep the exclusivity of their produce, the winery is not open for public viewing without prior appointment.

  • First off, every wine was good. Most were Pinot. I thought I did not like Pinot but there's I like. Staff is very focused on delivering an extraordinary art and wine experience while still remaining friendly and accommodating. Best not to show up early or late and not to wander the grounds unaccompanied. They lay out good reasons for this: issues they have suffered and they are very nice to the uninitiated. The art is world class and stands alone. Nevertheless, the wine, the art, and the staff were superb.

  • The most beautiful winery I've ever visited but with fantastic Pinots to boot. A wonderland for the senses. Not to be missed!

  • Been to Sonoma a few times now and this was the best experience we’ve had. Lilli was awesome and friendly, the grounds are gorgeous and the wine is even better. Well worth the time!! We can’t wait to go back, such a unique experience.

  • One of the best tasting experiences, ever. Those words are thrown around a lot these days but I say them here without hyperbole, for this place is truly just that - an experience. The wines (Pinot and Chardonnay) are exceptional, finely crafted and elegant. But the grounds, the art, the sheer thought that went into everything... it must be (you guessed it) experienced.

  • Phillepe was a wonderful host for our unexpected visit. I misread their website and did not realize we needed to make a reservation prior to our visit. Phillepe welcomed our group in graciously, invited us on a brief tour of the grounds and even treated us to a splash of Donums impressive pinot rosé. What could have been a disappointing afternoon turned into a delightful experience. We definitely will be returning.
