Gloria Ferrer Champagne Caves may sound like just another name in the list of vineyards in Sonoma but it stands out from the others for many reasons. First, the vineyard specialises in sparkling wine. Second, their pinot noir and chardonnay are like no other. And third, their tastings happen in a Catalonian-style house that overlooks the sprawling vineyard. All around the vineyard, you will see tributes to the classic Spanish traditions of the Ferrer family. Not just the architecture, the food and other celebratory events taking place here also have their roots in Spain. You can learn more about the Ferrer family and their wine-making techniques in the guided tours offered here. Pinot noir fans can go for the Pinot Journey that talks about how this vineyard developed one of its celebrated wine. The vineyard also arranges for its own Wine Country Picnic.

Gloria Ferrer Caves And Vineyards Reviews & Ratings
Stars for the sparkling wine and the view... Very nice. However three stars removed for the following problems: In this era of technology how it is it not possible to provide separate bills or at least separate totals for each couple? Why did the server not want to even print the bill until we paid her? After we insisted in seeing the bill we understood. One of our party had purchased a bottle of wine to take with him (unopened/not served... and we were told we had to purchase it from the server). On the final bill we noted that a 20 percent tip was include in the total (that's fine. We routinely leave 20 percent). However the 20 percent tip was also added to the bottle of wine that was simply purchased and put in a bag. The whole payment process was an amazing hassle!!! Our group won't return again.
Great views and excellent sparkling wines. Didn’t care to much for the still wines. Getting the wines took a while but we did have 9 glasses poured. Very relaxing on the patio. Wish we had more time to sit out on the lawn with a full pour.
We visited on a Saturday and the winery was crowded and hosting multiple very loud parties. It felt like they wanted to make a lot of money and were less concerned about making it a nice experience for their customers (unless you were at one of the parties). We got seated quite quickly but we were right at the back of the patio next to one of the large parties which was disappointing. They didn't ask if the table was OK for us. They don't allow you to purchase bottles of wine or split the bill with other members of your party, which we felt was uneccessarily restrictive and customer unfriendly.
Pretty, yet tranaactional. Wish I could give it more stars... The view from the tasting room is fantastic and the cuvee is superb. Unfortunately it also felt like they knew this fact enough to overcharge for a small group tasting which was in fact just a run of the mill restaurant experience with slow service and impersonal feeling. No thanks to the bottle sale hustle as we didn't have any real connection with the place. Save your time and money for something more memorable...
Excellent view with competent service by the strapping young lad. We had the sparkling wine tasting which paired well with the olives and the charcuterie plate. Overall a very nice winery experience.
