Simraceway Performance Driving Center, Sonoma Reviews - Write a Review
$177 for a broke chain... First time racers with no experience. Very fun - the cars were faster than expected and the track was in good shape. Was told to show up anytime but really only allowed to race from 2-6 if you're a newbie. If you're a first time racer but an experienced driver, you can get around the track at a good pace. 3 stars because my 14 year old was with me and had a bit of a time. Went two sessions without an issue and then the 3rd was given a different car (only because it was shuffled around) that he felt handled differently. I can't deny that he may have been pushing a little harder than the first laps but he's not one to usually push the limits. Even as an experienced driver, I had moments when getting used to the kart. I witnessed no out of control movements from him before hand but the girl at the desk said she witnessed 'hard braking'. Maybe. Ended up skidding off track on the first lap and hit the tire barrier. The cart would not go any more so he was out for the race. Turns out the chain came off. Reported as broken - no argument here. Issue came when we were charged $71 for a new chain and $100 labor for a stated one hours work. Enjoyed the time but not impressed with the end game. Would have went back but no chance now, fearing another chain break and a high bill.
This placw is so amazing in so many ways... I love every minute of my experience!
Amazing staff, incredible cars, challenging track, and I don't even have a bucket list, if you do, this needs to be added to yours.
Comfortable atmosphere .great view of the race, great drinks and food!
The performance driving course is a lot of fun!
