Robert E. Barrett Fishway Reviews & Ratings
This was really interesting to me. It was pretty cool to see how the fishway worked. It's only open during limited hours and for only a few months. It's pretty cool to take kids and show them this elevator for fish. You do have to climb stairs to experience the main event and I didn't see an elevator for people. There's an educational area when you first walk in. If none of that interests you, it's a nice view.
Great fun watching the first elevator and counting process. Large ahead run with some bass and eels. Guided tours are offered with special coloring books for the children and a chance to see Holyoke per generation facilities.
Great activity for the weekend! It's free. There is so much to learn.
Enjoyed the fish ladder and the information provided about the hydroelectric plant. Saw an eel in the holding/observation tank AND a beaver!
Very interesting visit. Lots to learn. Good family outing.
