About South Padre Island Adventure Park, South Padre Island

The South Padre Island Adventure Park is 40 acres of land spanning from the Gulf of Mexico to the Laguna Madre Bay and it provides an unmatchable adventure filled experience on the beach. One can go horseback riding, rent ATVs, spend time with animals at their petting barn or even organise parties at the park.

Horseback riding along the beach and the water’s edge is one of the most memorable experiences one can have on South Padre Island. One would often witness a variety of shoreline birds and marine life while horseback riding along the water’s edge. One can choose from their many horseback riding packages like the morning special, afternoon special, sunset special and moon light special based on what time of the day they’d like to go horseback riding.

One can also race around on their user friendly ATVs on their private 6 acre ATV sand dune track. Safety gear and general instructions are provided at the venue. A typical session of ATV riding would last for 30 minutes but one could purchase a package to ride for longer if one wishes to.

The Petting Barn houses lots of birds, small animals that are safe to handle or be around, for children and adults(No snakes). Next to the petting barn are the corrals with a host of barnyard animals that entertain children and big people too. Next to the petting barn is the pony ride corral where children can take pony rides and play with them.

Also, the South Padre Island Adventure Park is a great venue to organise events like birthday parties, weddings or merely a barbeque night on the beach.

All in all, the South Padre Island Adventure Park is great place for children, families, adults and couples.

The activities’ schedule is changed throughout the year depending on the time of the year and the sunset timing. Please visit the website for a detailed schedule.

South Padre Island Adventure Park, South Padre Island Reviews - Write a Review

  • Awesome experience! We were supposed to do the sunset ride but got to the island a bit late and they were kind enough to schedule us for the next morning. Staff are wonderful and really know their horses. They gave me one (I forgot it's name!) and they told me to watch out for him because he loved to be a pack leader. Sure enough, my horse always tried going to the front of the pack, but he was easy enough to control with a firm pull of the reins. After the horse ride, we enjoyed the ATV track they have. It was lots of fun riding in the dunes!

  • Visited in the off season and got froze out of the moonlight tour but they rescheduled us for a sunset tour. Ended up being just my wife and myself on the most amazing evening after the storm. Great tour guide made it lots of fun and helped us get our great pics! We also saw a deer on the island which was cool too.

  • We really enjoyed the horseback riding. They ask you to go 30 minutes before. I realized they do this because they look at your build and start saddling up a horse suited for you. This takes a while. There are 2 cowboys that ride with you on the hour long trip and it’s awesome. It’s so worth it because they take you through some sand dunes and take your picture it’s real nice!

  • Great place for a trail ride on the beach as well as through the sand dunes, the horses were wonderful as were the trainers. My daughter and I went on the 10 am ride and loved it, this was a wonderful experience for us inexperience horse riders. We would definitely do it again here.

  • This place is awesome! The wife and I went yesterday, and got to feed and pet the goats. We also got to pet the longhorns and the horses. The staff is extremely friendly. We ended the day with the 2 hour sunset horseback ride. It was so much fun, and Victor (one of our guides) was great. I highly recommend this place.
