The South Padre Island Adventure Park is 40 acres of land spanning from the Gulf of Mexico to the Laguna Madre Bay and it provides an unmatchable adventure filled experience on the beach. One can go horseback riding, rent ATVs, spend time with animals at their petting barn or even organise parties at the park.

Horseback riding along the beach and the water’s edge is one of the most memorable experiences one can have on South Padre Island. One would often witness a variety of shoreline birds and marine life while horseback riding along the water’s edge. One can choose from their many horseback riding packages like the morning special, afternoon special, sunset special and moon light special based on what time of the day they’d like to go horseback riding.

One can also race around on their user friendly ATVs on their private 6 acre ATV sand dune track. Safety gear and general instructions are provided at the venue. A typical session of ATV riding would last for 30 minutes but one could purchase a package to ride for longer if one wishes to.

The Petting Barn houses lots of birds, small animals that are safe to handle or be around, for children and adults(No snakes). Next to the petting barn are the corrals with a host of barnyard animals that entertain children and big people too. Next to the petting barn is the pony ride corral where children can take pony rides and play with them.

Also, the South Padre Island Adventure Park is a great venue to organise events like birthday parties, weddings or merely a barbeque night on the beach.

All in all, the South Padre Island Adventure Park is great place for children, families, adults and couples.

  • South Padre Island Adventure zip lining was very fun! We purchased an hour of zip lining for mom for her birthday and she had a blast. The technicians who oversaw her activity were very nice, professional, and helped to make her first time zip lining thrilling. If you’re in the mood for such an activity while in the island, look them up. I thought (as well as Mom) that the braking system was smooth and didn’t make her feel like she was being jolted around too vigorously when coming to a stop. Great Excitement!

  • This is the best place to visit on the island hands down if you have a family, great service, reasonable prices and several things to do all in one stop. Also the zip lining was amazing. Friendly staff was great with my 9 year old!

  • We had a great time on the go karts. My daughters that are 4 and 2 were able to ride with my husband and I. It was not busy and we were able to ride for a while. They have our girls ice cream as well. The go karts are in a different place than the petting farm. The drive out to the petting farm is beautiful.

  • Had a blast. We did the family ride for 1 hr, which was just right for 4 kids, my wife and me. This was our first time horseback riding and the staff did a great job of explaining the process and ensuring the groups safety. The facility itself isn’t anything fancy but it does the job and the prices were very reasonable for vacation activities.

  • My wife and I are horse people. We used to ride regularly, but with four kids it had to fall to the wayside a bit. So when we travel together we always find a ride to partake in. A number of times we have felt odd, due to the conditions of the horses. First impressions ARE everything, right? The steeds at Island Adventure Park were in such great condition, these people really care about their horses. The guides were funny, but you could see apparent evidence that they truly cared about each patron also. And on this ride we had the four kids with us. The horses were super well behaved, but responsive when asked. By far, hands down, far and above the 4est, best ride we’ve ever been on. A must family activity!! Tell Blondie hello for me! The guides told my wife they’d never seen the girl trot, lope or cantor before, but what a sweet ride. Ride is great for beginners, but remember they’re horses. As soon as they sense they can take advantage of you they will. The guides had three of my kids (14,12 &8), handling their horses so well by the end it was amazing.
