  • For $18 per person you get to view the half mile boardwalk around the marshes overlooking beautiful birds of all species. Feed alligator just below one deck and feed tortoises at another area. Then stay to learn about alligators while getting the opportunity to hold one, get inside a water tank (water to the ankles) and learn how to catch one, hold a red tail boa and watch them feed big padre! The view from the tower is just wonderful! It's worth every cent. We loved it so much!

  • A really cool place to visit! We did the 9am guided bird walk, followed by the 11am gator talk and both were cool! It was $30 for my family of 4 to go and at first, I balked at the cost but in the end it was worth it. We were there for 4 hours and my kids had a blast! Seeing (and holding) the baby alligators was a lot of fun. I will say that they could use a little better organization. Nobody ever answered the phone when I called and prices were not clear regarding the adventure pack. The building is beautiful but some of the signage and written information was lacking. I hope they continue to work on those areas and it would be a perfect experience. ❤️

  • Really a great place. The Sanctuary has done an admirable job putting together a beautiful location. The staff are very friendly and extremely knowledgeable about the area, wildlife and ecology of the area. This is worth 2x what they charge. The daily alligator talk is impressive. The picture opportunity is only a few dollars. Bird enthusiasts will love it here. We saw dozens of species. Right now is southern migration and this is a prime stopping point. The ecology programs here are deeply supported by the local island population. This is a good place to spend an hour or two learning about S.P.I.

  • Must see place. The view from the lookout tower is incredible. The greeter is the sweets most welcoming lady. We brought our own binoculars, also bring water or sports drink. It can get steamy. The view of the birds and fish are amazing. Perfect place to come watch the tarpon fish jump out of the water.

  • I absolutely love this place! They give an awesome, enlightening presentation on alligators and crocodiles and after you get to hold a baby dwarf alligator! They also let you go into ankle deep water to pick an alligator up yourself and you get to hold a snake. We were talking to the snakes owner and he said a little kid actually hit the snake and it still didn't bite him. You can also feed a tortoise. Very cool experience.
