  • Good location but dirty rooms. Friendly reception staff who were pleased to help relocate me to a more acceptable room (in terms of cleanliness). Hotel is in need of refurbishment/thorough clean. Rooms are not vacuumed daily and cleaning is generally poor. I'm sorry if others find this hotel clean but it's the dirtiest I've ever stayed in. I'm not being picky when the floors are sticky, surfaces are not wiped and floors are dirtier after room is cleaned than before!! Would not stay here again even with it's good location.

  • An epitome of 'okay'. After our first room smelled overpoweringly of air freshener (or carpet freshener) our second room was only a bit better. The bed is okay. Some rooms are about ten meters from a train track, but the double glazing is pretty good. The wifi is okay, but not great. The breakfast is a bit dry and the dining room is crowded... But okay. The staff seem to be working hard for customers, and are the best part about the place. Apparently there are upgrades in progress, but currently (August 2016) this isn't a hotel I'd rush back to. It's not so bad that I'd avoid it, especially for short stays, but if there are other options in a similar price range then I'll be looking at those carefully. Overall: Not terrible, but on the low side of adequate.

  • My home from home each time I visit London. Very inexpensive for London and it's easy to access Southwark Tube station and Waterloo Station. A short walk to Westminster too. Rooms are always clean and staff are always welcoming too. The all you can eat breakfasts are very good value for money.

  • Stayed in room 523. Excellent location, room reasonable quiet. Room in decent condition but felt tired. Needs more plug sockets. Staff very friendly and helpful.

  • Reasonably quiet. Good location for working in Southwark. Near tube and bus. Rooms are basic but clean and fairly new fittings.
