About Temple Of Jupiter, Split

Built in 3rd Century, the temple of Jupiter is not just one of the oldest structures in Split but in the whole of Europe as well. It is a small rectangular temple whose vaulted ceiling features embedded stone blocks with varied motifs. There is an ornate frieze that covers the boarding and ceiling. As you enter inside the temple, you will come across elaborate mouldings on the doorway. Located just on the west of Peristil, at the end of a narrow passage way called Kraj Sveti Ivana, this is the best preserved site in Split.

  • The temple is now quite bare, but the early christian baptism font is amazing.

  • Really cool. Interesting history behind the building . (Buy the ticket that gives you access to all the spots in the area, worth it)

  • Great ancient place in the Diocletians palace

  • Cool but so little

  • Nice little temple where baptism was performed. It is part of the cathedral. It is worth the visit if you buy the complete ticket at the cathedral, probably not worth to go only there.
