Spokane Civic Theatre Reviews & Ratings
First time at the intimate little downstairs theater. Awesome venue! My wife and I are both English majors/Shakespeare nerds and never knew the historical significance of the true life plot of The Book of Will. The players were fabulous and we'd be surprised if we don't see them in bigger productions.
I have now been to two events at the Civic. The first, was a show a friend was in, Cactus Flower. The first show was really well done. The show had good directing and the cast had a good time. The second event was a week long class my daughter attended a week long class with a performance on the last day. I am decidedly biased, but the performance was really good. Again, indication of very good directing especially given he had been working with 10 to 13 year old girls. When measuring a theater, quality largely comes down to the ability to find good directors, so far the Civic has delivered great directing, which result in good and great theater. The Civic is definitely a top tier local show house.
Recently saw a production of Matilda. I was blown away by the professionalism of the actors. We will definitely be visiting for a play in the future.
The children had a wonderful experience here. Their director was attentive, intelligent, well organized, and kind. The play they put on was short and fun! Would highly recommend this experience.
Love the theater...always efficient and gets people in and out quickly. Love the shows...
