One of the many gardens in Kashmir, the Chashme Shahi are certainly one of the most spectacular visual treats. It is located on the banks of the lovely Dal Lake and is hence a very picturesquearea perfect for spending an afternoon or evening in.

These lovely gardens have pretty little gazebos that you can sit in to admire the view. The flowers and plants are wonderfully arranged and it is a delight to walk down the grey paths in the midst of such great beauty.

The garden is built in the Persian style of architecture. It has lovely fountains at an amazing water system that is worth noting, especially by architecture lovers. If you are a poet or writer you are sure to be inspired by it as many have been before.

  • An ordinary place. They say the water coming out is hot and would help feeling freshness in fresh. But i touch it, feel colder. Entry charge 48 rs and vehicle parking extra.

  • The Chashma Shahi (Royal Spring) Garden showcases the serene beauty of Mughal designs. Experience nature at its most ornate as you climb the garden’s terraces, which are interspersed with polished walkways, colorful plants and carved water features.

  • A cool place to spend some couple of hours with your friend(s). There are at least 10 artificial fountains. They are good and well-synchronised. The fountains were made using the slanting geographic nature of the park. I walked thoroughly to find the source of the fountain water. At first, it seems to me that the water was coming from natural fountain but finally I revealed that a heavy pump was the source of heavy water. The park is well-planned indeed. I was there in last week of August. I found some flowers with bright colours, especially abundance of red colour. Many species! You will get soft touch of warm roses. There was European blend contrast with continental typical flowers! Wall nut, Cherry, Pear, Maple trees etc. The weather was warm and pleasant for the kids. I found some people doing fun in a day out with kids. Huge space with hilly horizon! I found no washroom there.

  • Well maintained. During summer, school kids crowd the place. These kids run around throwing water on everyone. Great fun. For people who are looking for a quiet time, try to find out if there are a school visits ahead of time. Anyways the garden parts are not so crowded. Kids are usually around the fountains, so one can have a quiet time if one can find a spot in one of the gardens.

  • A part on the heaven on earth. Mind blowing natural beauty. A place of tourists attraction.
