  • Very nice place! Very friendly staff and well maintained museum. When you go there make sure to ask about the tunnel that used to lead into the prison. It is very interesting with fantastic artwork that people painted on the walls of the tunnel. I recommend this place if your looking for something to do. Excellent place!

  • Fascinating museum, though be prepared for very heavy topics throughout. With your quite nominal admission fee you receive access to the Glore Psychiatric Museum, the St. Joseph Museum, the Black Archives and the Doll Museum. You could probably spend two full days exploring these museums and not see everything. Every exhibit has interesting things to read. There are fascinating things to learn at every turn.

  • Seriously a really interesting view into the history of Western psychiatric care. As a student I think I paid four dollars for entry, a nice lady at the front explained what was where and showed me a cool video. There are smaller museums directly attached to the glore museum about African American history and Native American history... And Dolls for some reason. I didn't have time for those, but I perused them a bit and they had a lot of cool artifacts and stories from folks from that area in the past. Check it out!

  • An extremely interesting, insightful - if not slightly macabre at times - place to visit. There is a lot to be learned here about the history of mental health treatment and services in Missouri (and the U.S. in general), and it is definitely unique! The exhibits are "in a class of their own", so to speak. As for it being haunted, that's for you to decide!

  • Me and some family went here in the ballpark of a year ago and the experience was so good that it's still crisp in my mind. You won't regret the experience.
