Stellenbosch, like the rest of South Africa, has short lived Spring and Autumn season. The weather is fairly warm almost throughout the year- akin to the rest of South Africa.

• Summer: November to mid-February is summer season in Stellenbosch. The weather is dry and warm with the hottest months having a high temperature of 40 degrees Celsius in January and February.
• Autumn: Autumn is short lived and begins from mid-February to April. A few spells of rain are not uncommon during autumn.
• Winter: Winter season is from May to July with cool days and frosty nights. Snowfall is common in the higher region while the whole town may experience rain and wind.
• Spring: August to mid-October is spring season and is known for its short transition from the winter cold to the warmer summers that follow.

The best time to visit Stellenbosch is in Autumn and early Summer.
