This 18th century botanical garden is close to Stockholm University and was founded by the Bergius Brothers. Now it is owned by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, managed as a center of recreation, education and research. There are two main areas - the open garden and the conservatories.

  • Open garden: Contains the herb garden, the Italian terrace, the Japanese pond, vegetable garden, the orchard and the rhododendron area.
  • The Edvard Anderson Conservatory: Various botanical landscapes brought to life.
  • Victoria House: A historic building dedicated specifically to the giant water lily knowns as Victoria.

While the Edvard Anderson Conservatory and the Victoria house have restricted opening times, the outdoor areas of the garden are always open. You can even picnic on the grass in the dedicated areas.

  • Check out the museum shop, the Edvard Anderson Conservatory Cafe, and the Old Orangery Restaurant & Cafe.
  • Private events can be organised here.
  • Contact the garden for details on guided tours.

  • My new favorite botanical garden. The collection is so rich and the grounds provide hours of fun rambling up narrow stone staircases, across little bridges, along little cliffs. So so lovely.

  • Amazing place everyday of the year. Well signed plants. The botanical garden also incorporates a restaurang, a cafe and a small but well stocked gift shop.

  • Very nice little park. The free section is a nice promenade. The paying main greenhouse is nice, but a bit pricey and not as great as others I've visited (the one in Copenhagen is much more impressive). It can be a nice place to grab a coffee during wintertime though.

  • If you are interested in plants this is the place to be. Real live exotic plants on display from all over the world.

  • Beautiful place to visit if you are interest in plants, different variation from some places around the world. It is not really big place but it have nice park around by the water. A nice cafe/ restaurant for a fika. The ticket for the garden and the lotus garden are good price
