This is a bit of a hidden gem. You’ll stumble across it as you wander around Gamla Stan, and be glad you did. The spire of the Old German Church is the highest point in Gamla Stan. Of the numerous reminders of prominent German presensence in Stockholm, this church is the most prominent. Built in the 14th century and expanded in the 16th, the church is famous for two magnificent galleries: the ornately decorated late Renaissance King’s Gallery and the southern gallery of biblical paintings. Charming though it is, you need not go out of your way to visit.

  • Beautiful church and big U can see it from fare.... Great

  • Beautiful church in the old town “Gamla Stan”. Additional charm to the already charming neighbourhood. But one must check the opening times before visiting if they want to get inside because they have peculiar timings. Otherwise, it’s beautiful inside out.

  • Smaller Church than I have seen in other European cities, but it has some magnificent stain glass windows. Very charming place to visit from the 13th century.

  • Stunning church but it is under repairs at the moment so check the times to plan a visit!
