Oktoberfest is celebrated in the downtown area of Mount Angel, and it is lots of fun to be here. What you get here is great food and beer in the company of lovely people and outstanding surroundings. The German polka music can drive anyone crazy, and all you can see around is smiles and laughter. At this popular festival you will see a huge crowd, but the best part is that everything is well managed and organized that there is no room left for any problem to arise. There are lots of events and activities for kids, so bring your children here and see the beautiful colours in the air. Have lots of fun. Cheers!

Mt. Angel Oktoberfest Reviews & Ratings

  • This festival is amazing. Lots of culture and great food. Layout is well done. It is organized and efficient. Despite large crowds there was never a long wait for anything. All of the volunteers were pleasant and well trained. I enjoyed myself and can't wait for 2020

  • My once a year birthday stop. Love the food carts that make it feel like a buffet of marvelous choices. Cinnamon rolls for breakfast, cabbage roll for lunch, dough boys or elephant ears for desert. Pure delight. Gotta love the entertainment, the atmosphere, and the food, but most of all, IT'S THE GRAPEFRUIT BEER!!! I can only hope that it will be on tap in heaven!!!

  • We have so much fun dancing and singing to the fun bands. Every year it gets better. This year we visited the Abbey. I recommend seeing this next time you take in Oktoberfest. We went on Sunday this year and it was raining in the morning, yet everyone was smiling as they traipsed through the damp weather.

  • Went to Oktoberfest for the first time in about a decade, have to say it wasn't as good as I remembered as a kid. The food is all pretty much the same, so really it ends up being whichever vendor you'd rather support than what food you want to eat. The beer isn't bad, but in the end there also isn't much to choose from, more about what band is playing where. The vendors are mostly just your run-of-the-mill market vendors, but there are some unique ones mixed in. Most of them are very friendly though, and genuinely like to chat with customers. But again, most of them are all peddling the same thing, anyone who's been to a weekend market or renaissance faire has likely seen the same thing. Oktoberfest usually falls on a bright, sunny weekend, at the tail end of summer so you should be aware of the weather before heading over. Sunscreen, lots of water, hat and sunglasses, keep your kids out of the sun. The facilities consist of port-a-potties, you won't be able to find real restrooms during the festival. Most places require you to buy food or drink to sit down, there is very little room sit sit anywhere else. The festivities are mostly on the weekend, but the festival starts on a Thursday. It's busier in the weekend, but I'd still wait to go until then if you could. My last thing... It's not a very diverse festival. Just keep that in mind.

  • Mt. Angel is a lovely community and very welcoming to the masses that attend Oktoberfest. The food is wonderful and so varied. There would be something for everyone's taste. Of course there are the traditional fares and the fun offerings such as deep fried Twinkies. Try the curry won't be disappointed. There are so many music and dance offerings that it is difficult to see them all. It's a grand day/night/weekend adventure.
