Alafia River State Park Reviews & Ratings
I love this park for hiking and I hike about once a week here. I don’t bike but this park is also very popular for trail biking. BE ADVISED, I recommend this park for nature lovers who like moderately difficult trails that are sometimes obscure. Also, the trails get swampy when it rains and there are mosquitoes so you might need bug spray. THE PLUS🙂, opportunities to see deer, alligators, possum, turtles, hawks, squirrels, fox, snakes, frogs, raccoons, mice, wild boars, armadillo, and other birds.
One word describes this bike park... AMAZING!!! Ended up going here two weekends in a row because I had so much fun and I live two hours away from it. Talking with other mountain bike riders they all agree that Alafia is probably the best bike park in the state of Florida and it is certainly the best one I have been to so far. The best part is if your are feeling really adventurous there are a couple of other good bike parks close to Alafia so you'll never get bored. Absolutely love this place!!
Great park for biking! If you don't like biking, it might be boring. It's very relaxing but you have to leave the park to go fishing. There are no washer and dryers, so don't plan on washing any clothes. This is the first state park I've been to that has camping but doesn't offer laundry area.. Very friendly and helpful ranger at the front gate. I'd definitely come back for the trails. If you like quiet and wildlife, this is also for you.
I hiked the Old Agrico Hiking Trail at Alafia River State Park. It's a beautiful trail, though it does have some narrow, steep spots which, if you aren't paying attention, can trip you up. The entry fee for a day of hiking, mountain bike riding, or horse riding is reasonable and the views are fantastic. I highly recommend this park!
Love to ride here, there everything for every rider. You can take the loops leave someone (so they rest) while you take another trial. The Bridge in the picture is gone for now because of a storm though!
