  • Down Under is on of the best if not the best hostel I've stayed in. Management are super friendly, you get free WiFi, free washing powder and laundry. It's clean. Kitchen facilities are spot on. Ps4, pool table! This hostel has the lot. Would recommend it to all party goers! 🤙🍺

  • Nice budget hostel with clean rooms and restrooms....nice common area...overall nice place to stay

  • This is a good hostel. I'm a bit older now but every so often I'd like to stay in a hostel, to rememeber my younger days as a backpacker. This is what I'll looking for at my younger age.

  • Not the best place. The first thing I noticed upon arriving where the guests, possibly even some of the staff, smoking right outside the front door where there were plenty of "No smoking here" signs posted. Throughout my whole stay these signs appear to be completely ignore by everyone and staff did nothing to stop it. Reception was not rude but they definatly weren't friendly. The room, a 14 mix dorm, was messy but that was to be expected with that many people and no lockers. But I definatly saw cans and bottles of beer just sitting on the floor despite the sign on the door saying no drinking in the room. The bed were clean but not every bunk had a plug in near by and if you are on a top bunk, good luck no of those have a plug in the best you can hope for is one near the floor. The room was also really noisy at night, not because of the people in the room but the people outside. The room is located right at the front of the buliding and you can hear everything that the people hanging out front smoking are saying. There is absolutely no soundproofing so you can hear everything going on outside on the street. And people love to hang out in front of the building to chat apperently because I was woken up several times thoughout the night by people on the front step loudly chatting and laughing. When I checked the time it was 1 am and 3am, I didn't bother to check everytime I was woken up buy in any case these are at hours no one wants to be woken up at. The stairs leading to the upper level where most of a facilities smelt of mildew but most of a faclities where fairly clean. That being said the refrigerator smelt of olf milk. On the plus side all the landuray machines are free (washing, drying and powder) and they have unlimited free internet and computers in the lounge that you can use. With all that being said I don't recommend this place if you plan to stay more then a night or two if you are not a super heavy sleeper and I denfinatly can not recommend at all if you are a light sleeper.

  • Positives - location, value for money, relatively clean. Negatives - could feel the springs in my bed, people tended not to clean up after themselves in the kitchen area, the water temperature in the showers fluctuated a lot. Personally, I found there to be a strange, uncomfortable vibe about the place.
